I received a Christmas ornament from my realtor when I bought my latest house. It was a ceramic ornament in the shape of the front of a house and on the back was a small congratulatory message from my realtor. It was accompanied by a nice letter. She did a good job on that marketing gift. The shape of the ornament, a house, tied back to her company, a real estate agency. Her information was on the back of the ornament (although she should’ve added her business phone number) so her business will be remembered. The letter was very nice and was an addition layer to direct her name and business information into the client’s memory. Letters get thrown away, so they’re not good on their own, but they’re great when they’re part of a promotional package. Although ornaments are seasonal, they can have good impact on a client. Here are a four tips: Give It Early, But Not Too Early If imprinted ornaments are given out in November, they have two months of visibility before they are put away. I suggest the logoed ornaments be given out toward the end of November so that they’ll not get lost before the clients bring out the tree. Choose a Sturdy Ornament Don’t choose a flimsy ornament to wear your logo. If the ornament you choose is sturdy, it will go on the Christmas tree for years to come and not be thrown away. Go Metal Of course there are lots of choices among imprinted ornaments that look great. Logoed ornaments can come in any shape or size out of almost any material. I just prefer the look of metal. It shines under Christmas lights, attracting attention to itself. It looks sleek and modern, which means it has a nice cool factor. If there were a metal ornament with LED lights, that would be even better! Shape Must Match Your Business Like my realtor’s house-shaped ornament, the logoed ornament you choose should match your business. If you can’t think of a shape that matches the type of business you do, then think of a way to create a whole promotional package around the ornament so that the shape makes sense with the promotion. Because an ornament is used seasonally, this is one of the few times when the promotion product can be seasonally shaped without limiting its value. Promotional ornaments are a great way to give a gift and get remembered this holiday season.
